Swiss mountains

There they are. The new pictures as taken by my new camera. I think this first test is a success. Please judge by yourself.

Ok, so I know I am not such a big fan of mountains, of snow and of cold weather. But I must admit that the swiss mountains are spectacular. So here you have them: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. All over 4000 meters and not a single cloud. Fantastic view!

And now you may ask, where do we get such a fantastic view: from the Schilthorn. This is a panoramic restaurant, boasting that an episode of James Bond was shot there (in 1968 ...). Tourists from all over the world come here. It is a nice way, climbing via four cablecars. And at the altitude of 2973 meters, the temperature was still positive. The air was fresh and it was so quiet. There were still a few birds.

On the way back, there was a stop at the Trümmelbach wasserfall. The water comes down the three moutains you saw on top and they run through the rocks. It is quite an adventure to walk through the rocks and to see this serie of ten falls.

In the old days, these waterfalls could not be seen, but the local people could hear the noise they made through the rocks. Indeed, "trümmel" means drum. These days there is a special escalator through the rocks and we can walk from fall to fall.
